De Parade

Nowadays, the De Parade stands proud as one of the few travelling festivals in the world.

Inspired by traditional circuses, the park in Martin Luther King Park offers a brilliant kaleidoscope of brightly-coloured tents making it simply picture perfect. De Parade may look like an old-fashioned fairground but it promises a very action-packed 17 days of 75 spectacles, featuring dance, theatre, magic, art, animation and music during next molnth.

Grachtenfestival

For five days, between August 12 and 21, special locations in the heart of Amsterdam form the backdrop for more than 80 classical concerts.

The concerts can be enjoyed in houses and gardens of hospitable local inhabitants and in concert halls, historic buildings, museums and out of doors in the area around Prinsengracht.

Pluk De Nacht – Open Air Film Festival

An open-air film festival takes place during mid-August at two youth clubs, Het Stenen Hoofd and Studio K. Both. If it rains, the screenings move inside. The selection includes by and large never widely-released indie films, known only from some film festivals, but also experimental shorts and unknown pieces of archival footage.
