This year’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), one of the world’s leading events for electronic music, takes place between October 19 and 23, with a crowd of over 375,000 expected to descent on Amsterdam, The Netherlands, for this 21st edition.

Over the past 20 years ADE, an initiative of Buma, has become a leading platform for the international dance music scene, serving as a gauge to identify the freshest musical trends, ranging from emerging talents through to the most recent work of electronic music’s pioneers and superstars.

Every aspect of global dance music culture comes together

The festival has grown into the world’s largest club-based festival and conference for electronic music. The event continues to evolve year after year, with last year’s anniversary edition featuring 2,289 artists performing in 100 venues and more than 500 speakers taking part in the nine different conferences, most of them being streamed live on the internet. The extensive film, art, and audio-visual programme has also been expanding yearly, with an even vaster schedule expected for this year.

“ADE has developed into a platform where every aspect of the global phenomenon that is dance music culture comes together. It is fantastic to see that Amsterdam has become a global destination for both music lovers and the music industry,” ADE director Richard Zijlma said.
