It is both curious and tragic that both Mepa and the local Church are always a bit late where it concerns our natural environment.

After hotel sites in Gozo were converted to apartments, Mepa said it would no longer allow this.

After the new cemetery in Nadur was approved, Mepa said it would no longer issue permits for new cemeteries. The Church, too, has taken its time when it comes to speaking out in defence of the environment. Destroying nature, after all, hits the poor the hardest.
