Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri says he has no intention of resigning despite the Serie A club’s “difficult” start to the season.

And the 45-year-old Italian has given frustrated fans a boost with the news that injured Brazilian international pair Robinho and Alexandre Pato should return to his embattled squad in the coming weeks.

Milan have failed to win in their three home matches at the San Siro so far, including a scoreless draw with Anderlecht in their Champions League opener on Tuesday.

The crisis at the seven-times European champions nearly boiled over in midweek when Allegri and youth team coach Filippo Inzaghi were involved in a nasty spat.

A day later Allegri and Inzaghi, one of the club’s iconic strikers who was forced into retirement at the end of last season, shook hands and smiled for the cameras.

Despite attempts to show a united front, reports have since suggested Allegri will be sacked if Milan do not beat Udinese on their away trip today and others claim he is set to resign.

The Italian insisted he intends seeing out his contract until June 2014.

“I read in some newspapers about my resignation, there is absolutely no resignation on my part,” Allegri told reporters.

“We are going through a difficult moment, we have not won a home league game nor scored at home, but we are working on having an important year. This is what has annoyed me. To say I’ve tended my resignation is a lack of respect for the club and the fans.”

Brazilian midfielder Robinho, who was injured in Milan’s opening day defeat to Sampdoria, could return for the match against Cagliari next Wednesday.

Injury-plagued Pato, who suffered an adductor muscle tear at the end of August, could return in time for the Milan-Inter derby on October 7.

French winger Mathieu Flamini, who made his return to action against Anderlecht in midweek, is set to miss Udinese due to inflammation of the tendon on his knee.
