According to the quote on the Facebook page for Malta Sick fest 2012, “the definition of a ‘festival’ is a voyage of self discovery… a day of debauchery to cleanse the mind and gratify the soul”.
All these ingredients will no doubt be found on the organisers’ checklist, and most likely, on the minds of all those who plan on being part of this celebration of alternative music that is taking place this Saturday.
In true festival fashion, Malta Sick fest 2012 is being staged in the green surroundings of Buskett Forest; two stages will collectively present the cream of Malta’s alternative rock and underground electronic scene.
The main stage will feature Dolls for Idols, Errormantics, Skimmed, Stolen Creep, The Man Upstairs, Yews, Stalko, Three Stops to China and Clandestines, with DJ sets from A Critical Mass, Laavemuax, Karl Bald, Davide Zane and Robert Pisani.
The Modulation area, on the other hand, will host the electronic sounds from the likes of Acidulant, Multifunktional, Sonitus Eco, A-Call, Bjan Jensen, Poni, Specs, Istishhad, Freakazoid and Stimulus Timbre.
Tickets are available from Coach and Horses (Birkirkara), Zion Bar (Marsascala), EF School (St Julian’s), Why Not? (St Julian’s), Buskett Roadhouse (Dingli) or online.
