Over the past two decades, my wife and I have flown with Air Malta more than 100 times and visiting family and friends have regularly increased that airline’s passenger numbers.

Since 1998 we have resisted the tempting offers in the Flypass Magazine and rather allowed our points, later Kmiles, to accumulate over the years.

It had been our intention to start to use those Kmiles for holiday trips this year.

This will now not be possible because I have just discovered online that our Kmiles accounts are zero following the introduction, without any notice, of new terms and conditions.

One appreciates that efforts must be made to make the airline viable but it does seem strange to penalise former frequent fliers who, in advancing years, use the service less.

I am sure that we are not the only Air Malta clients to have made this unfortunate discovery, nor will we be the only ones to think twice before booking a flight with them again.
