A code-sharing agreement between Air Malta and Air France may help to boost tourism from Canada, with the French airline saying that since the service was launched, 60 per cent of the bookings originated from Toronto.

Air France general manager Benedicte Duval said this yesterday during a ceremony marking the inaugural flight under the code sharing agreement.

“This agreement significantly strengthens our flight offering to and from Malta,” said Ms Duval.

Air Malta’s chief commercial officer Philip Saunders said the agreement would facilitate connections with non-EU countries such as North America and a number of exotic destinations.
