The successful Malta-based executive air charter company AirX increased its workforce by 76 per cent throughout 2015.

Further significant hiring is expected in 2016 as the company continues to add more jets to its fleet. New staff members range from back office personnel to flight crew, safety officers, maintenance and logistics personnel. The total employee headcount currently stands at 158 full-time personnel, including 24 Maltese staff.

2016 is expected to mark a watershed moment for the company as it plans to introduce larger and longer-range aircraft to its fleet. To date, Air X operates three Boeing 737 aircraft, three Legacy 600, four Challenger 850, and two Cessna Citation X. Three-quartersof the company’s fleet is registered on the Maltese aviation register.

AirX provides luxury private charter flights across Europe to clients including A-list celebrities, members of royal families, top corporate executives, sport teams and government ministers.
