I have just returned to Malta off a flight from Heathrow in London. It really hurts me to read what Air Malta is going through. In-flight services are superb and there are no words that can really describe the care that each and every passenger gets. I hope that politics will not ruin such an asset to our islands. I think that ways and means can be found to save the airline.

There are other world examples such as Alitalia. A solution can be found. If it means selling the airline to interested bidders, if this means saving the hundreds to threatened jobs, well go ahead with solutions – but by all means remember that Air Malta holds a record of real customer care. Do not remove that smile from the faces of so many dedicated cabin crews.
