Air Malta and Sita, the airline’s supplier of IT services, have renegotiated a new service contract that will result in about 30 per cent savings for the carrier.

As part of its restructuring, Air Malta had been actively seeking better contractual terms with all its major suppliers, in terms of cost savings, enhanced performance and service levels, the airline said.

The new agreement will bring additional benefits to Air Malta including revised financial terms, improved IT technology, enhanced network resiliency and contractual flexibilities.

Sita has been supplying IT services to Air Malta since 2006 and this new term will run until August 2018.

The contract will also see Sita building the required IT infrastructure at Sky Parks for Air Malta and oversee equipment transfers.
