Playmobil workers will be getting a wage increase as part of a new collective agreement signed on their behalf by the General Workers’ Union on Monday.

The salary raises will be distinct from cost-of-living-allowances. The collective agreement, which is backdated to last January 1, is valid for three years. It comes on the back of a difficult month for Playmobil and its workers, with the breakdown of negotiations having led to industrial action last month.

The GWU’s industrial action was countered by Playmobil locking its gates to workers. Negotiations resumed following this stalemate.
