A 28-year-old man from Sierra Leone was critically injured when he was stabbed with a kitchen knife in San Ġwann yesterday.

Samuel Bangura was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital with a stab wound to his chest.

Sources said the stabbing followed an argument between Mr Bangura and his wife, Sandra David. The woman, 22, also from Sierra Leone, was helping the police in their investigations, the sources said.

This was not the first argument between the couple, the sources added.

The police were informed about the incident in Barbaġann Street at about 3.30 a.m.
