Adele could make up for the disappointment of losing out on the Mercury Prize after being nominated for a string of MTV Europe Music Awards.
The star was nominated for the best female award and best video and best song for her hit Rolling In The Deep.
The singer, who lost out to PJ Harvey for the Mercury, also gets a nod for the best UK and Ireland act.
Lady Gaga gets the most nominations with six – including best live act and best song and best video for Born This Way.
Katy Perry and Bruno Mars both got four nominations, while Justin Bieber is named in three categories.
A new award, biggest fans, has been created to recognise the most passionate fans, with Mr Bieber up against his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, for the award.
The awards, which will be held in Belfast’s Odyssey Arena in November, will be watched by millions of people. More than 22 million tuned in last year to watch acts including Rihanna, Plan B and Bon Jovi.
The awards, which were set up in 1994, have previously featured performances by stars including U2, Take That, Beyonce and Jay-Z.
