A heavy drugs user has confessed to trafficking heroin and cocaine to fuel his addiction.

Clive Agius, 28, of Floriana, was arrested on Thursday after police received information he was selling drugs from his home.

At his arraignment yesterday, he pleaded guilty to trafficking heroin and cocaine, aggravated possession of the drugs, possession of cannabis and relapsing.

Police Inspector Herman Mula said he did it to pay for his habit.

Defence lawyer Gianluca Caruana Curran did not request bail and asked for his client to be kept at the Forensic Unit within Mount Carmel Hospital.

Magistrate Gabriella Vella is expected to hand down judgment next week.
