The Malta Volleyball Association (MVA) had a full compliment of games last weekend with no fewer than eight senior and two female mini-volley matches played at the Cottonera and the University sports complexes.

In the men’s Super League, FDL Office Group bounced back from the previous week’s upset after beating mid-table side Mġarr in three straight sets (25-15, 25-18, 25-29) to retain top spot.

Sunday also saw Aloysians make a return to winning ways as they overcame Spiker Boys 3-1.

Aloysians took the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-22, but Spiker Boys briefly revived their hopes by winning the third, 25-21. Aloysians were back on top in the fourth set, 25-22, to wrap up the match.

In the women’s Super League, Paola Hibs Candy also consolidated top spot after dismissing Toyota PlayVolley in three straight sets (25-10, 25-18,25-16).

In Division One, Flyers SMS U-18 beat Play Volley School 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 13-25, 25-18), while club-mates Flyers Global Capital had the better of Paola Hibs 3-0 (26-24, 35-13, 25-16) in a game played at the University gym.
