A slight decline in the number of non-fatal accidents at work was registered in the second quarter when compared to the corresponding period last year.

The National Statistics Office said yesterday that, between April and June, 820 non-fatal accidents were reported, a drop of 4.5 per cent.

The largest share of accidents involved people in elementary occupations mainly in the manufacturing sector, followed by the construction industry. No fatalities were reported in the period under review, as opposed to last year when two workers had died.
