The 2014-15 Pasta Poiatti Championships, organised by the Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi/Karozzi (ASMK), get underway on Sunday with the first race for Enduro riders at the Fawwara quarry.

The Motocross Championship will be on seven rounds and the Autocross series will be contested over 12 races which will be staged at three different track layouts.

Sunday’s Enduro race will be run on a temporary track laid out by team leader Eddie Bonello and his helpers.

Registration will be at 9am and first practice starts at 10am.

This season, three ASMK Motocross riders have already taken part in the FMI-Sicilia Regional Championship. The latest series was held at the Hi-Fly MX arena in Syracuse.

Clayton Camilleri (250cc KTM) and Edward Ciantar (250cc Kawasaki) took part in the Over 21 class.

Camilleri was classified fourth overall and Ciantar fifth.

Races were held over a 1.214km-long circuit. Camilleri’s fastest time was 20.823 seconds which compares well with the winner’s best of 18.603 seconds.

Paul Noel Muscat, riding a 250cc KTM, won the Masters class with his best time being 24.149 seconds.

He was top rider in qualifying and in the second race following a runner-up position in the opening event.
