Following a three-week break from racing at Ta’ Qali, events from the 2012-13 ASMK championships will return to the motor sport organisation’s home base today where the 10th round for Autocross and Motocross will be staged, starting at 11 am.

The last round of races brought about some changes in the various classifications.

In Autocross Class A, Christian Galea (Fiat Ritmo) regained his lead with 52 points but he is only a mere point ahead of Patrick Cassar on his Opel Corsa. Manuel Muscat (Opel Corsa) is third overall with 24 points.

Opel driver Malcolm Borg is leading Autocross Class B with 35 points after winning the last race in the series. Mario Scicluna follows on 23 points and Escort driver Gużi Pace is third with 19 points.

Christian Apap is leading the Gozo Autocross Championship on a RWD Escort Mk1.

Apap has 42 points, two ahead of joint runners-up Dominic Zammit (Alfa Sud) and Marvic Vassallo (Escort).

Title holder Clayton Camilleri, on a KTM, reclaimed top spot in the Motocross Class A championship with 114 points. Carmelo Borg, on a Suzuki RMZ, follows on 109 points and Paul Muscat (KTM), winner of the last race in the ASMK championship, lies third on 99 points.

The Motocross Class B classification is another tight affair.

Trevor Muscat, on a KTM 250cc, is currently leading the standings on 125 points. Runner-up Brandon Cassar Muscat (Yamaha YZF) has 101 points and young Gozitan rider Joseph Bigeni (Suzuki RMZ) is third on 84 points.

ASMK have just announced that the next Demolition Race for smaller cars will be held on April 21.
