Alternattiva Demokratika deplored an attack on its Gozo candidate while collecting signatures for the spring hunting referendum in Mġarr on Sunday evening.

It said David Camilleri was intimidated by young people in a car waiting to catch the Gozo Channel ferry who scribbled all over the petition, tore it and started calling him names.

“This bullying attitude is another reason why people should immediately sign the petition asking for a referendum to abolish spring hunting,” AD chairman Arnold Cassola said.

Mr Camilleri has filed a report with the police.
