Maltese and British flutists will join forces to form a unique quintet of flutes, led by the international and distinguished flutist Andrea Kuypers and Maltese foremost flutist Silvio Zammit.

Ramona Zammit Formosa, a versatile and free-lancing musician, Laura Cioffi and Clara Galea will also form the quintet. The concert will have an eclectic and stimulating programme, featuring a classical repertoire with Telemann’s La Caccia and Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Reed Pipes.

The concert will also feature Debussy’s romantic Clair de Lune, Legrand’s Papa Can You Hear Me? from the film Yentl, as well as Kander’s All that Jazz from the film Chicago.

The programme continues on a more vivacious note as the quintet will perform a number of jazzy repertoires. It will perform Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm, Piazzola’s Night Club 1960 (Histoire du Tango) and Bernsteins’s Overture to Candide.

The event is being organised by Barocco Foundation in collaboration with Palazzo de Piro, with the support of Bank of Valletta.

Tickets are available for €25 per person. Bookings are available at Palazzo de Piro and the Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux or by calling 2145 0560 or sending an e-mail to events@xarapalace.com.mt or contact Barocco Foundation on 7968 0952.
