I couldn’t agree more with Fr Joe Borg (The Sunday Times, June 10) that it was no surprise that Dr Carm Mifsud Bonnici came out with dignity, as is expected ofa gentleman.
Indeed this is no surprise as both his father Ugo and grand-father Carmelo (Il-Gross) before him were gentlemen of the highest calibre.
Likewise I was not surprised at Franco Debono’s reaction after the no-confidence vote in Dr Mifsud Bonnici. It has been obvious that all his actions were motivated by animosity.
One thing is certain: he is certainly no gentleman. Indeed it seems that Seneca had him in mind when he wrote that “the cock is at his best on his own dunghill”.
