Giovanna Bascetta, an unforgettable music teacher who inspired us all to practise the piano for many hours a day, has left a mark on the music world of Malta. Thanks to her, our exam marks at the Royal Academy of Music were the best possible and many of us won scholarships there.

Her pupils want her to be remembered and are going to have a portrait of her painted, which will possibly be at the Manoel Theatre Museum. Miss Bascetta was a very dear lady who was a mother to us all.

Below is a list of the pupils we remember. We would like them to write in with their memories of Miss Bascetta. If there are pupils we haven’t mentioned, we would like them to contact us by writing to: Cynthia Turner, 232, Belgravia Court, Sliema 1601, or e-mail cturner@go.net.mt.
