Belgian interns at the National Student Travel Service (NSTS) recently tidied-up The Strand before planting a tree in the garden in Gżira named after the Council of Europe.

The tree was planted to symbolise the friendship and collaboration between Malta and Belgium.

Gżira mayor Robert Cristiano and Belgian Ambassador Jean-François Delahaut attended the tree-planting ceremony. This activity was organised by Helene Baptiste, a Belgian intern who has been working with NSTS since April.

“We wanted to do something to show our appreciation for all the support that we have been receiving throughout our stay in Malta,” Ms Baptiste said.

NSTS plans to repeat this activity with every group of interns in future.
