Mount Carmel Hospital is a corner out of hell.

It should be closed down and the patients transferred to homes filled with love.

There is no love at Mount Carmel. The place looks more like a prison than a hospital.

There are certain psychiatrists who are kind and loving but there are others who show no mercy to the patient. The same applied to nurses.

I know a particular patient who has been there for over 45 years and hardly anybody goes to visit him.

The food has improved a lot but, ultimately, people are not meant to be locked up.

People there want to get out but they can’t. Most of them are very unhappy.

I appeal to Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and to the competent authorities to do something positive for these people whose minds are hurt and who are not so fortunate.

I again suggest that homes filled with love (like Id-Dar tal-Providenza) should be opened for these people because living at Mount Carmel can be very traumatic.
