I would like to congratulate Salvu Mallia for the extensive information he provides in his Is-Sajf mas-Salv television programme on TVM.

However, I, and I believe many others, choose not to watch all his interesting programmes from beginning to end due to the overacting and exaggerated gestures. For Mallia it does not seem to matter whether he is in a church or a museum, on the beach or at a carnival party. His gestures and performances are the same; farcical and comical acting all the way through. Empty and exaggerated gestures together with ridiculous and flippant performances do not go down well with everyone and everywhere.

There is a time and place for everything and this is where one differentiates between amateurism and professionalism.

One also has to bear in mind, and I am sure Mallia is a professional and knows this only too well, that acting on TV is different to acting on a stage.

I am sure we can look forward to more informative and interesting programmes from Mallia but with perhaps some changes for the better.
