Employees of M. Demajo Wines and Spirits Ltd were recently treated to a weekend break in nearby Sicily.

The highlight of the trip, a gesture by the company to thank its members of staff for the outstanding results achieved in 2012, was a visit to one of the company’s clients – the Carlo Pellegrino Winery in Marsala.

The team was welcomed at the winery by export manager Massimo Bellina, who gave a brief account of the history of the company.

Another highlight of the winery visit was the tour to the majestic Pellegrino Towers, a unique building built in the 1950s, which was once used to store wine. The towers, which have been converted into a four-storey building with a conference room, kitchens and a tasting room, offer spectacular views of the Egadi Islands – Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo – and of the Stagnone lagoon.

The team also visited the medieval town of Erice.
