Smart Technologies has just celebrated its fifth anniversary with a move from Valley Road in Birkirkara to new, bigger premises in Lija. It has also launched a cleaner and more contemporary logo and a revamped website.

The anniversary milestone for Smart Technologies will however be the securing of the local exclusive representation of MICROS Systems, a specialist company that provides leading enterprise-wide applications, services and hardware for the hospitality and retail industries.

The announcement was made during an introductory event for a number of IT specialists held at the Phoenicia Hotel in Floriana. Smart Technologies CEO Joe Aquilina welcomed the new strategic partnership.

“MICROS solutions are used in over 567,000 hotels in more than 180 countries. Over these past years we have managed to establish Smart Technologies as a reference point in the leasing, outsourcing and renting of IT products and services. In fact, one of our most import-ant achievements was the creation from scratch of the IT leasing concept,” explained Mr Aquilina.

“Having already established a sound presence in the hospitality sector, representing a global brand like Micros strengthens our already strong and successful leasing, renting and outsourcing services,” he added.

Micros combines industry knowledge and expertise to provide cloud-based mobile and on-premise solutions that allow clients to streamline their operations and successfully engage with customers.

The event was also addressed by Donato Colamartino, Regional Sales Manager for Micros Italy, Malta and Sardinia, who welcomed Smart Technologies as Micros’ trusted partner in Malta.
