Pianist Michelangelo Carbonara and his wife, cellist Kyung Mi Lee, will be giving a duo recital in aid of the Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo and Happy Moments, Kenya.

The duo will be performing Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro, Chopin’s Allegro Moderato from Sonata in G minor, and the Andante and Allegro from Rakhmaninov’s Sonata in G Minor. Michelangelo Carbonara will also perform Schumann’s Fantasy in C and Chopin’s Ballade No. 2 in F.

Michelangelo Carbonara is a world-class performer, composer and master of a wide-ranging musical idiom, equally at home even in jazz and contemporary music.

He is keen on creating musical arrangements of great accomplishment, with his talented South Korean-born wife being an equally fine chamber musician and soloist.

Carbonara is performing in aid of the two charities for the fifth consecutive year. The organising team has once more obtained the loan of a brand new C3XA Yamaha grand piano thanks to Olimpus Music Ltd., Malta, a superb instrument worthy of a pianist of Carbonara’s stature.

Tickets for the concert cost €25. For those who would like to continue their evening with dinner at the Kempinski San Lawrenz Hotel Trattoria, tickets are available for €35 per person. The restaurant will be exclusively reserved for this event, during which diners will be able to meet the two musicians.

Reservations can be made by sending a cheque to Fse Fund Gozo/Hmk, addressed to Sonja Sinclair Stevenson, 60 Trux Street, Għarb 102, Gozo.
