Carla Grima Atelier’s first ever winter collection, themed Eventuality, was showcased at Camilleriparismode in Rabat. The show created an intimate setting for a number of guests, who admired locally-crafted pieces in deep autumnal hues.
A Malta-based fashion studio, Carla Grima Atelier’s vision is to capture nature’s luxury, with designs fusing natural silhouettes with best-quality fabrics to produce original garments.
Inspired by organic silhouettes and the colours of the Mediterranean, natural fabrics are transformed into original pieces to treasure for summer, autumn, sea and sunset.
Crafted using a combination of watercolour techniques, photography and textile printing, each garment is a collaboration of human hands, nature and machine. Silk, cotton and wool fibres allow skin to breathe and an innovative one-size system fits multiple silhouettes.
Carla Grima Atelier strives to provide garments that are comfortable and versatile yet unique in cut and colour palette. Innovative pattern cutting originates from the design team’s background with international designers like Marc Jacobs, as well as years of immersion in buzzing fashion capitals.
For the brand, beauty is not merely dependant on visual appearance but is intricately connected to production. Each garment has its own story and items are produced on a small scale and are hand-finished.
Inspiration for the collection came from the effortless fusion of colours during the glassblowing process, moving freely through the fabric, creating a series of new prints for the cooler season to come.
The event featured models draped in Carla’s inspirations, gliding through the crowd, followed by an afterparty at the venue itself.
