Girl groups, television shows, festivals, dance records… you name it, Lyndsay has probably done it. Which is no mean feat given she’s still quite young. And further to the considerable experience she has acquired as a regular face on the Maltese pop scene, she’s just released a brand new song that shows a side of her that she hadn’t shown much of previously.

Daphne is a power rock ballad that Lyndsay herself describes as “personal, emotional and classy, but somewhat edgy”. Boasting a strong melody and heartfelt lyrics, the song was self-penned and produced by Kenny D’Ugo and Dave Calleja along with Lyndsay herself. It also brings the singer a step closer towards the release of her album, which is currently her main focus.

Speaking of her latest release, Lyndsay said: “I wanted to show another perspective of myself, both as an artist and as a songwriter”. In digging deeper inside herself, she has successfully blended emotions and artistry into a song that could well become a mainstay in her repertoire for years to come.

“I feel I’m still finding myself musically at this stage,” she added. “This particular song is quite personal and talks of the betrayal of a friend and the suffering it brings with it.”

The song is accompanied by a music video that was directed and produced by Keith Falzon.

Apart from several achievements related to both the Malta Music Awards and the Bay Music Awards, Lyndsay has also enjoyed radio chart success with most of her releases, among them Love Sick and the collaboration with rapper Dimal, Let’s Make it Happen.

More recently, she was selected to audition for the next series of Britain’s Got Talent, an opportunity that is yet to unravel and that will hopefully enable Lyndsay to set her foot abroad and reach a wider audience.
