Marlene Farrugia has given a clear indication about the setting up of a new political party.

It will be quite a job, considering the way in which candidates are elected to Parliament. However, I think the prevailing political climate played a great part in her decision.

The job will be made easier because she will not depart from her Labour principles and all those who are not happy with the present situation can find refuge in her party.

There are prominent Labour MPs who come to mind that might form the backbone of this new party. For instance, Edward Scicluna, Evarist Bartolo and Godfrey Farrugia have, in a way, indicated they do not like the smell coming out of the Castille kitchen and they are backed by the head of the Labour delegation at the European Parliament.

There may be others, who knows?

The three MPs mentioned above were elected with a comfortable vote and it would not be very difficult for them to explain to their voters that their Labour principles are still the same and the only reason for the switch is the bad smell coming out of the Castille kitchen.

Marlene Farrugia means well and her speeches in Parliament indicate she will not tolerate any corruption. She resigned her Labour Party seat just because she wants to have clean politics.

The gentlemen mentioned above can certainly help her achieve her goal.
