We did it. We really and truly did it and now Joseph Muscat is actually the Prime Minister of Malta. I did have the feeling that we would win but not by 36,000 votes.

Oh, how I wish mum and dad could have lived to see this day but I guess the good God had other plans for both of them.

Do you know that I actually felt sorry for the Nationalists? They were so used to power that they thought they would be there forever.

Boy oh boy were they wrong!

With the Nationalists losing, I guess we’ll see the end of corruption and scandals galore. I am more than positive that our Prime Minister will never allow such things to happen even if he had to fix a pair of eyes to the back of his head.

I can see dad crying with happiness had he been here. And I can see mum wearing her Sunday clothes just to see Joseph taking his oath of office. Oh what an exciting time it was for us all.

Thank God for the end of arrogance, arrogance that was so apparent when the Nationalists were in power. I do hope that Joseph will remain a Prime Minister for many, many years. It’s not impossible because he is such a fine man.
