On the subject of gay folk adopting children, Joe Zammit, in his letter ‘A lame adoption’ (February 24), asks: “why don’t we follow God’s plan on the upbringing of children?”
Well, my answer is that, first and foremost, we don’t all believe in God and that, secondly, even those that do believe in God don’t all interpret Him in the same way, that, for example, God didn’t just create men and women but both heterosexuals and homosexuals.
We might idealise for now that a child is brought up by a heterosexual couple but a gay or lesbian couple is far better than being left with nothing. I believe that, for as long as there is love in that house, then it’s a palace for sure.
