Once again we are greeted at 6.15 a.m. with blasts of the horns of impatient traffic stuck behind Arriva buses in Mrabat Street, Sliema.

Are the drivers of these vehicles aware that people live in Mrabat Street and don’t always need this wake-up call every morning (except Sundays)?

I would love to go outside these offenders’ houses at the same time on a Sunday and see how they like the blast of a horn for 30 seconds at a time. I know it’s not the fault of the buses or the drivers but something must be done about this noise. Surely a warden or policeman could be on duty near the Blue Star at this time and book offending vehicles for excessive noise?

Also while I’m at it I have a negative point for Arriva. After watching a show in Valletta last week we thought we would get the bus back to St Julians at 11 p.m. but every bus from the terminus was full.

Surely it is not rocket science for the dispatcher to send an empty bus from the terminus so people on the next stops can get a bus to their destination?

Or is that too difficult? We ended up getting a taxi after an hour.
