During the sixth annual conference of Finance Malta, various important points were highlighted, including the fact that Malta is the leading country in attracting monetary financial institutions within the European zone. Moreover, financial services are a key pillar of the economy and Malta – which possesses the regulatory excellence, economic strength and intellectual capital – has all the qualities of being a financial hub in the Mediterranean region, positioning itself as a platform between Europe, Africa and the Middle East

During a recent local financial services seminar, concern was expressed about the lack of human resources and training in this fast-developing business sector, especially in the top positions.

To fill this gap, the Malta Business Academy teamed up with Napier Edinburgh University to deliver a Masters degree programme in Banking and Financial Services, which will run in Malta and Edinburgh, Scotland. The modules have been conveniently planned for students to study over a number of weekends – for some modules, tutors will be flown in on purpose from Scotland to maintain contact with the students.

Napier Edinburgh University is one of Scotland’s top universities for graduate employability – 93.6 per cent of graduates are in work or further study within six months of leaving.

The Telegraph newspaper named it as one of the top 10 UK universities for getting a job in 2012. Napier Edinburgh University is also the proud winner of the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education 2009. This was awarded for innovative housing construction for environmental benefit and quality of life.

This Masters degree programme is of interest to accountants, those in the legal profession as well as members of the various financial institutions, insurance companies and bank executives. The Malta Business Academy will be assisting students to gain a number of huge benefits and other discounts.
