I find the current debate on hunting strange. I was a game shooter in the UK, which has strict controls on guns, game seasons and in particular strict controls on the shooting of non-game birds, which I strongly support.

Rather than object to EU law, Maltese hunters and their federation should organise and adopt the UK practice of raising and releasing game birds into the countryside for sport purposes.

That way there is plenty of game and no conflict with EU restrictions. Adaptation to change is a fact of life now.

Look for solutions not issues.
