The Delimara Lighthouse has been brought back to its former glory thanks to a restoration pro-ject undertaken by Din l-Art Ħelwa, supported by GasanMamo Insurance.

Built in 1854, the Delimara Lighthouse served as a beacon to shipping as well as a landmark of British architecture in Delimara, Malta.

The first phase of the project involved the restor-ation of the exterior, while the second phase involved internal works and the installation of a kitchen and bathrooms. The first two phases were completed by 2008.

The third and last phase took all of five years, covering the restor-ation of the light mechanism and its housing.

Din l-Art Ħelwa intends to use the lighthouse for heritage tours and accommodation for tourists looking for a different holiday experience.
