This week, I was on a bus stop in San Ġwann (if I remember correctly it was bus stop 1154) at about 9.20am waiting to catch a bus to Valletta. Eighty minutes later I was still there, waiting for the 35/36 bus, although the timetable on the bus stop said that at least three buses should have passed by in that time.

I ended up walking to Gżira and caught a bus from there. I pity the people who have to use the buses regularly and have to keep to a schedule like getting to work or school on time. I tried phoning Arriva from my mobile and all I got was press this button for Maltese or English, etc. and canned music. It all smacked of sheer negligence and incompetence. I have seen and used better bus services in poverty-stricken Third World countries.
