The Simar Nature Reserve in Xemxija is tomorrow organising a Christmas fair for the first time.

There will be workshops, games and activities for all the family, delicious Christmas treats and stands by different organisations and sustainable enterprises.

These include the Malta National Aquarium, Wasteserv, Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust, Higher Youths Malta (Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary), Simply Organic and Dar Frate Jacoba.

Children can get involved in Christmas crafts, tree decorations, bird food garlands, scavenger hunts and quizzes.

At the reserve’s bird hides, expert reserve wardens will be running bird ringing demonstrations and they will assist attendees in birdwatching.

At 11am, there will be a storytelling session held in collaboration with the National Literacy Agency.

During the day, one can become a Birdlife Malta member and benefit from special Christmas membership package offers which include magazines, pin badges, keychains and other items and souvenirs.

The Christmas Nature Fair will be held tomorrow between 10am and 4pm. Entrance is free and there is no need for booking. Għadira Nature Reserve will be closed for the day and the event will be cancelled only in case of adverse weather conditions.
