A total €97,000 were collected by Caritas Malta in a campaign for victims of the super typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, the Church said this morning.

The money will be used by Caritas Internationalis and Caritas in the Philippines to mitigate the burdens those affected were going through.

The typhoon killed more than 6,200 people and left tens of thousands homeless when it struck in November last year.
