An 85-year-old man was injured this afternoon when he was hit by a car in Fleur-de-Lys Road, Birkirkara.

The police said the man was hit by a Toyota Starlet driven by a 31-year-old man from St Julian's. The incident happened at about 5.30 p.m.

The elderly man is being treated in hospital.
