A total of 794 divorce decisions have been handed down by the courts since 2011, when divorce was introduced, Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia told Nationalist MP Chris Said in reply to a parliamentary question today.

He said 40 decisions were handed down in 2011, 420 in 2012 and 334 last year.

The minister said there were no statistics on how many divorced people had remarried.
