A 74-year-old man has been arrested in New Zealand for planning to pelt Prince Charles and Camilla with horse manure.

Sam Bracanov, a Croatian national living in Auckland, New Zealand was arrested   on his way to a Royal walkabout in Auckland city centre.

A court was told he was carrying a bag of manure when police arrested him. He was released on bail on the condition that he stays at least 500 metres away from the royal couple for the rest of their tour.

Charles and Camilla have spent four days in Auckland on the latest leg of their tour of New Zealand.

Their next public appearance will be in Wellington tomorrow.
