Last year 169 police officers appeared in front of the Police Disciplinary Board, Minister Carmelo Abela told Jason Azzopardi yesterday.

The minister said there had been no such hearings in 2013 following a general amnestry granted by the former police commissioner.

Of those charged, 74 police officers were found guilty and had their weekly off days withheld for not more than seven days; 19 were cleared.
