Social Policy Minister John Dalli told Parliament yesterday that there are 72 foreign nurses within the departments of health, the aged and community care.

Answering a question by Adrian Vassallo (PL) that 50 have regular employment, of whom 46 are staff nurses and the other four are enrolled nurses.

Of the other 22 nurses who work under contract, 13 are staff nurses and 9 are enrolled nurses.

Mr Dalli said that 27nurses come from Romania, 17 from Bulgaria and five from Nigeria.
