There are 7,441 foreigners with a permit to work in Malta, of whom 2,277 are from non-EU countries and 889 are refugees or people granted humanitarian protection, information given in Parliament today shows.

The biggest grouping, 1704, are listed as having elementary occupations.

1,405 are service and sales workers and 1,284 are senior officials and managers.

There are 853 who are technicians and associate professionals.
