6pm, the IT solutions company, has launched its new health solution named StrokePad. Developed in collaboration with NHS clinicians and supported by North Central London Cardiovascular and Stroke Network, StrokePad is the latest addition to 6pm’s CareSolutions suite of health products.

This product is designed specifically for stroke patients and produces a highly comprehensive, real time digital clinical report encompassing the entire management pathway from admission to discharge.

StrokePad is a tablet-based product which is very intuitive and easy to use. It was developed to enable the care process of a stroke patient to be recorded quickly and accurately from start to finish. It follows the ‘real-life’ clinical processes undertaken by highly experienced clinical staff whilst recording each step of the patient journey.

The solution automates reporting, allowing clinicians to focus on patient care and to decide which is the best course of treatment. StrokePad records and consolidates all aspects of the treatment and captures auditable information needed for improvement of the service and provides outcomes to other bodies.

“We wanted a system that would provide a complete stroke pathway record, be smart enough to organise and report on targets, and provide meaningful outputs to our stakeholders – all without getting in the way of direct patient care. This didn’t exist so we built the StrokePad,” Rob Simister, clinical lead of the Hyperacute Stroke Unit, UCH, explained.

6pm deputy chief executive Steve Wightman added how StrokePad offered a very specific service: not only is it designed to efficiently record each step of the assessment process but in doing so it permits the clinicians to give their undivided attention to the patient.

Naxxar-based 6pm specialises in information management, business intelligence and document management.
