Between July and September, a shortfall of €6.5 million was recorded in government finances, the National Statistics Office said yesterday.

During this period total revenue stood at €879.3 million, an increase of €88.5 million when compared to the third quarter of 2014. Expenditure reached €885.8 million.

The NSO said that general government debt at the end of September increased by €55.3 million over the corresponding month of the previous year to reach €5,687.7 million.
