There are currently 6,027 third country nationals working in Malta as well as 185 from EEA/EFTA countries, according to information tabled in Parliament by Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo.

The information, tabled in reply to a Parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Charlo Bonnici, shows that most of the third country nationals, 1,128 came from the Philippines, followed by Serbs (793), and Chinese (346).

Among other nationalities with substantial numbers are Eritreans (333), Indians (291), Libyans (263), Russians (218), Nigerians (189), Ukranians (177), Turks (169), Pakistanis (169), Somalis (148) and Ivorians (118).

There are more than 100 workers from  EEA/EFTA countries, of whom 116 are from Norway.
