The number of microchipped dogs in the national database has reached 50,114, Environment Minister Leo Brincat said.

Replying to a Parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Mario Galea, the minister said 7,004 dogs were microchipped and licenced  in 2013 and 5,226 last year.
